DESCRIPTION:Flag Tourney \nFriday July 4\, 2025 \nRegistration Opens Tuesday June 20 at 9:00 AM\, get your foursome and register for the Flag Tournament. \nREGISTRATION OPENS – June 20\, 2025 at 10:00am \nREGISTRATION CLOSES –  July 4\, 2025 at 9:00an   \nMembers can register by contacting the Pro Shop at (207)998-6002 or by clicking the link below and registering online through the Poland Spring Golf Genius portal. \nREGISTRATION LINK – Flag Day Registration \nTEE TIMES – Member Times \nENTRY FEE – $25.00 per player \nFlag Tourney features individual\, 18 hole\, stroke play format in which golfers begin the round of golf with an allotment of strokes\, then play until those strokes run out.  Flags are given to competitors before the round. The golfers stick those flags in the ground at the point from which their ball comes to rest on their final shot allotted.  The golfer who stakes his flag the farthest around the course is the winner. \nHere’s an example: Let’s say your allotment is 75 strokes. You play the golf course until you hit your 75th shot\, which\, let’s say\, comes to rest on the 16th fairway. That’s where you plant your flag\, on the place your ball came to rest on your final stroke. If no other player’s flag is planted beyond yours (say\, on the 16th green or 17th tee box) you are the winner. \nDETERMINING STROKE ALLOTMENT – Full handicap (100%) will determine the stroke allotment. Using full handicaps\, a golfer playing Poland Spring\, a par-71 golf course and who has a course handicap of 14\, for example\, receives 85 strokes (71 for the course’s par rating plus 14 for the golfer’s handicap) as his tournament stroke allotment. \nUsing full handicaps often means that several golfers will reach the end of 18 holes with strokes left to use. In that event\, all players with strokes remaining  would go back to the No. 1 hole and keep playing until the stroke allotment is reached. \nELIGIBILTY – Flag Tourney is open to all Poland Spring Members with active GHIN handicap. \nPURSE – The golfer who stakes his flag the farthest around the course is the winner.  Winners will be awarded prize money\, determined by finishing position\, in the form of Pro Shop Credit.  All Pro Shop Credit must be used by October 15th.  . \nRULES OF GOLF – All play will be governed by The Rules of Golf as approved by the USGA\, except as modified by Local Rules. The Rules Committee will have the final authority on all rulings. The competition is deemed to be closed when the trophy is awarded to the champion. \nThe Tournament Committee/Rules Committee reserves the right to alter any of the conditions\, provisions\, and/or schedules herein. DESCRIPTION:The Cobblestones are a band from Western Maine playing a variety of songs from artists such as Fleetwood Mac\, Jackson Brown\, Mary Chapin Carpenter\, Natalie Merchant\, John Mellencamp\, CCR\, Bonnie Raitt and many more.  You’ll recognize many songs but you won’t hear the same songs that other bands play.  In addition to hits old and new\, you’ll hear beautiful songs that are little known classics and we’ll introduce you to some of today’s most talented songwriters.  Band members are vocalist Carolyn Plourde\, guitarist/vocalist Michael Plourde\, keyboardist/vocalist Danielle Tran\, drummer Mark Plourde and bassist Phil Mantis. DESCRIPTION:CHRISTIE RAY is an emerging Maine Singer-Songwriter-Musician\, based out of New Gloucester. Along with performing at many venues throughout New England\,  Ray has also performed live on the local tv show “207” and auditioned on the hit  tv show “ America’s Got Talent”.  \n​ \nThough her sets focus on songs from her newly released album\,  “THE BATTLE”\, she’ll also put her own spin on cover songs from artists such as Fleetwood Mac\, Miranda Lambert\, Queen\, Tom Petty\, Hank Williams\, Jefferson Airplane\, Blondie and many more.  Christie is accompanied by Masa Takahashi on lead guitar/ backup vocals\, Dave Currier on percussion/drums and Sean Finn on bass guitar. \n$5.00 admission.
