SUMMARY:Members - Mid Summer ABCD Scramble
DESCRIPTION:Mid Summer ABCD Scramble \nSunday August 2\, 2026  \nThe Mid – Summer ABCD Scramble is open to all Poland Spring Members with active GHIN handicap. \nThe Mid – Summer ABCD will consist of an 18 hole four player scramble. \nFORMAT:  Each team member hits a tee shot on each hole. The team then collectively decides which of the four balls is in the best position to play next. After the team decides which ball is best\, mark the position with a tee\, each player retrieves their ball\, and plays a shot from the new designated position. This procedure is repeated for each shot until a ball is holed. A player’s lie may be improved by one club length (no closer to the hole) through the green with the exception of hazards. For example\, if you elect to play a ball from a sand trap\, the player whose ball you have chosen to play must play the ball as it lies and then the other team members will be allowed to place the ball (no closer to the hole). Once players have reached the green\, the ball may not be placed to improve a player’s lie (must be placed at spot where it lies).   All putts must be holed out. No gimmies.  Each member of the team must use his/her tee shot once. \nTEAMS – Teams will be determined after the close of registration.  Teams will be made by placing A’s from low to high\, B’s from high to low\, C’s from low to high and D’s from high to low. See chart below for more information. \nTEE TIME – Assigned Tee Times starting at 7:00 am \nPURSE – Top Gross team finishers will be awarded prize money\, determined by finishing position\, in the form of Pro Shop Credit.  All Pro Shop Credit should be used by October 15th.  . \nPoland Spring reserves the right to extend the deadline if the field is not full at the scheduled close time. Eligible Members can register by contacting the Pro Shop at (207)998-6002 or by clicking the link below and registering online through the Poland Spring Golf Genius portal. \nREGISTRATION LINK –  \nENTRY FEE – $25.00 per player\, payable in the Pro Shop only. \nMULLIGANS – $5.00 per player Available in Pro Shop\, (1 Mulligan per player) \nRULES OF GOLF – All play will be governed by The Rules of Golf as approved by the USGA\, except as modified by Local Rules. The Rules Committee will have the final authority on all rulings. The competition is deemed to be closed when the trophy is awarded to the champion. \nThe Tournament Committee/Rules Committee reserves the right to alter any of the conditions\, provisions\, and/or schedules herein. The event will also feature a 50/50 Raffle\, auction and door prizes\, a putting contest\, raffle prizes\, and a new car for a hole-in-one shot. \nA barbeque lunch will be served at two locations on the course from 11am-1pm\, and a full dinner will be served at the conclusion of the event along with the awarding of prizes. \n

DESCRIPTION:Norm Nolette Chapter Raises Nearly $1 Million Since Golf Tournament’s Inception\n\n\n\n September 27\, 2023 | CU Collaboration and Chapter Activity\, Ending Hunger. Since 1995\, the Norm Nolette Chapter of Credit Unions has hosted an annual golf tournament to benefit the Campaign for Ending Hunger. This year’s event was held on August 24 at the Poland Spring Golf Course and raised an outstanding $60\,200\, exceeding their previous highest fundraising total by $3\,200!\nThe culmination of the Norm Nolette Chapter’s twenty-eighth tournament also signifies another significant milestone: this event has raised $964\,171.58 since its start—nearly $1 million! All proceeds throughout the years have been directed to the Campaign.“When the chapter began hosting this tournament back in 1995\, I don’t think any of us could have imagined how much it would grow and raise in support of the Campaign for Ending Hunger\,” said Denise Nowinski\, Director of Education and Member Relations at Tricorp FCU. “This truly is an event that the credit unions in three states look forward to each year. It is a great way to connect\, have fun\, and raise money to help combat hunger in Maine.”The credit unions in the chapter lent a helping hand\, from securing sponsorships to working it day-of. Their collaborative efforts made the event a huge success. Tricorp FCU specifically feels a special tie to carrying this tournament out each year\, as Norm Nolette was the very first CEO at Tricorp.For the past 24 years\, the Tricorp FCU has led the chapter in organizing and coordinating the event\, along with a committee of chapter credit union employees. The tournament location holds significance\, as well\, as it was Norm Nolette’s favorite course to play. Sigrid has musical roots in bluegrass\, folk\, and traditional American music\, and she has continued to explore acoustic music genres. She performs as a solo musician and with several bands in Maine. \nJoin us at the gazebo at Poland Spring Resort\, bring your blanket or chairs and enjoy a night out with your friends and family! Tickets are $5 each and proceeds benefit the Poland Spring Preservation Society and our mission to preserve\, protect and restore the 1893 Maine State Building and the 1912 All Souls Chapel. For the past decade\, however\, the current five-piece lineup of Heather Kahill (fiddle)\, Merrill Marsh (guitar)\, Matthew Nelson (bass)\, Sam Pfeifle (guitar)\, and Field Rider (“deadly” banjo\, according to one Dublin nightclub owner) have taken the band to new heights\, with four-part harmonies in the traditional style infused with contemporary songwriting that draws from pop to indie rock to punk and the blues. Their latest album\, “Gently Used\,” produced with Jonathan Wyman and Chris “C$” Burns\, takes you on a journey from a burning Monroe-style picker in “Walk Right Out” to an Eagles crooner in “Colorado” to the strutting blues of the Mickey Newbury classic “Why You Been Gone So Long.” You might find something better to listen to while the sun sets on a warm summer afternoon\, but you’ll have to look hard.\nJoin us at the gazebo at Poland Spring Resort\, bring your blanket or chairs and enjoy a night out with your friends and family!
