Members registering individually online must notify the Pro Shop of the other team member. \nREGISTRATION LINK – https://www.golfgenius.com/websites/10798856066058696880?preview=false \nENTRY FEE – $40.00 per player \nTIES – In the event of a two-way tie\, Tie will be broken from most difficult hole to least. \nHANDICAP – Partial handicap (85%) as recommended by the USGA for a two player Best Ball event. \nELIGIBILTY – Governor’s Cup is open to all Poland Spring Members with active GHIN handicap. \nPURSE – Net Winners will be awarded prize money\, determined by finishing position\, in the form of Pro Shop Credit.  All Pro Shop Credit must be used by October 15th.  . \nRULES OF GOLF – All play will be governed by The Rules of Golf as approved by the USGA\, except as modified by Local Rules. SUMMARY:Members - Mid Summer ABCD Scramble
DESCRIPTION:Mid Summer ABCD Scramble \nSunday August 3\, 2025  \nThe Mid – Summer ABCD Scramble is open to all Poland Spring Members with active GHIN handicap. \nThe Mid – Summer ABCD will consist of an 18 hole four player scramble. \nFORMAT:  Each team member hits a tee shot on each hole. The team then collectively decides which of the four balls is in the best position to play next. After the team decides which ball is best\, mark the position with a tee\, each player retrieves their ball\, and plays a shot from the new designated position. This procedure is repeated for each shot until a ball is holed. A player’s lie may be improved by one club length (no closer to the hole) through the green with the exception of hazards. For example\, if you elect to play a ball from a sand trap\, the player whose ball you have chosen to play must play the ball as it lies and then the other team members will be allowed to place the ball (no closer to the hole). Once players have reached the green\, the ball may not be placed to improve a player’s lie (must be placed at spot where it lies).   All putts must be holed out. No gimmies.  Each member of the team must use his/her tee shot once. \nTEAMS – Teams will be determined after the close of registration on Friday August 1st.  Teams will be made by placing A’s from low to high\, B’s from high to low\, C’s from low to high and D’s from high to low. See chart below for more information. \nTEE TIME – Assigned Tee Times starting at 7:00 am \nPURSE – Top Gross team finishers will be awarded prize money\, determined by finishing position\, in the form of Pro Shop Credit.  All Pro Shop Credit should be used by October 15th.  . \nPoland Spring reserves the right to extend the deadline if the field is not full at the scheduled close time. Eligible Members can register by contacting the Pro Shop at (207)998-6002 or by clicking the link below and registering online through the Poland Spring Golf Genius portal. \nREGISTRATION LINK – https://www.golfgenius.com/websites/10798856066058696880?preview=false \nENTRY FEE – $25.00 per player\, payable in the Pro Shop only. \nMULLIGANS – $5.00 per player Available in Pro Shop\, (1 Mulligan per player) \nRULES OF GOLF – All play will be governed by The Rules of Golf as approved by the USGA\, except as modified by Local Rules. DESCRIPTION:GORHAM\, Maine – The University of Southern Maine Athletics Department is excited to host its 36th annual Husky Golf Classic\, on August 4 at Poland Spring Golf Course and Resort. One of Maine’s most historic golf courses\, Poland Spring is an 18-hole\, par 71\, championship layout with a slope of 125\, measuring 6\,178 yards. \nThis year’s classic will be played as a four-player scramble\, beginning at 9am\, with prizes for 1st-3rd gross and net scores. Additional prizes will be awarded for the longest drive (men and women) and closest to the pin (men and women). The event will also feature a 50/50 Raffle\, auction and door prizes\, a putting contest\, raffle prizes\, and a new car for a hole-in-one shot. \nA barbeque lunch will be served at two locations on the course from 11am-1pm\, and a full dinner will be served at the conclusion of the event along with the awarding of prizes. \n

SUMMARY:Norm Nolette Tournament Benefiting Ending Hunger
DESCRIPTION:Norm Nolette Chapter Raises Nearly $1 Million Since Golf Tournament’s Inception\n\n\n\n September 27\, 2023 | CU Collaboration and Chapter Activity\, Ending Hunger. Since 1995\, the Norm Nolette Chapter of Credit Unions has hosted an annual golf tournament to benefit the Campaign for Ending Hunger. This year’s event was held on August 24 at the Poland Spring Golf Course and raised an outstanding $60\,200\, exceeding their previous highest fundraising total by $3\,200!\nThe culmination of the Norm Nolette Chapter’s twenty-eighth tournament also signifies another significant milestone: this event has raised $964\,171.58 since its start—nearly $1 million! All proceeds throughout the years have been directed to the Campaign.“When the chapter began hosting this tournament back in 1995\, I don’t think any of us could have imagined how much it would grow and raise in support of the Campaign for Ending Hunger\,” said Denise Nowinski\, Director of Education and Member Relations at Tricorp FCU. “This truly is an event that the credit unions in three states look forward to each year. It is a great way to connect\, have fun\, and raise money to help combat hunger in Maine.”The credit unions in the chapter lent a helping hand\, from securing sponsorships to working it day-of. Their collaborative efforts made the event a huge success. Tricorp FCU specifically feels a special tie to carrying this tournament out each year\, as Norm Nolette was the very first CEO at Tricorp.For the past 24 years\, the Tricorp FCU has led the chapter in organizing and coordinating the event\, along with a committee of chapter credit union employees. The tournament location holds significance\, as well\, as it was Norm Nolette’s favorite course to play. DESCRIPTION:The World Famous Grassholes play high-energy bluegrass (yes\, a little bit like that Billy Strings guy\, but also like Greensky and Leftover Salmon and Mighty Poplar\, etc.)\, a mix of original compositions\, classics\, and cool covers. It’s good for dancing and nodding your head and tapping your feet\, and meant to be enjoyed with friends and family. Part of a long legacy of performers that goes back to 2000\, the Grassholes feature Heather Kahill on fiddle\, Merrill Marsh and Sam Pfeifle on guitars\, Flann O’Brien on the stand-up bass\, and Field Rider on Banjo and harmonica.
