DESCRIPTION:The Rogers Family organized the Ryan Rogers Memorial Golf Tournament as a means of raising funds to support The Ryan Rogers Samaritan Fund at Saint Joseph’s College. It was also designed as a fitting tribute to Ry’s love of the game of golf\, and serves as another means of drawing family and friends together in genuine Ry fashion. The 1st annual tournament was held in October of 2021 and raised over $43\,000.

DESCRIPTION:Event Description \n\n\n\n\nWould you like to run the 6 hr. event where the 2024 winner ran the 2nd fastest female attempt and 8th fastest attempt overall in the WHOLE country for the year according to Ultra Running Magazine?!? This course is built for records\, PR’s\, and backyard ultra style training\, \nAlong the sleepy Route 26 in Western Maine\, there lies a place that is world renowned for its magical healing waters. Over the course of 200 years\, a small village has grown into a thriving community where the people are just as magical as the water under their feet. This is the town of Poland\, Maine. \nTrail Legs Run Coaching and Poland Parks & Rec. invite you to 6 at the Springs\, a celebration of Poland’s unique small businesses and trails through a running event. Competitors will tour the historically registered rail trail at Waterhouse Brook located at the the base of Lower Range Pond. From there they will run to a turnaround in Mechanic Falls before crossing the scenic waterway back to the start line. This flat 4 mile loop will excite the speedster and the casual hiker alike as it passes multiple watersheds and possibly the most scenic beaver pond ever created along a wide\, hard-packed trail. \nAs a timed event we will give recognition for all mileage earned. One loop. Two loops. Ten loops. The choice is yours and we hope you come ready to challenge yourself! This course is friendly for both the experienced and new runner/walker of all ages. And when you’re done\, enjoy all the amazing products that our local businesses and sponsors offer.\nBe sure to join us this June to see our amazing businesses and beautiful trail systems! \nHow do you participate?\nYou may sign up multiple participants under one account. If you wish to add additional family members or want your child 12 and under to be scored\, please select “Add Participant” before you choose Checkout. All paid entries have an event shirt included! \n6 at the Springs is a six hour endurance event. That means you can run as much distance as you want from 4 miles and up during that time period. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO RUN THE ENTIRE SIX HOURS! Prizes will be awarded! \nAnother great feature is start times. We recognize not everyone is an 8am runner. Therefore we will have gun starts at 9am and 10am in addition to the 8am start. The 6 hour clock still stops at 2pm so if you plan to arrive later\, be aware that the total time you will have available will be less than 6 hours. This is a great opportunity for the running parent to let the kids settle in before getting out for your race! Simply sign up as normal and show up when you can.

The golfers stick those flags in the ground at the point from which their ball comes to rest on their final shot allotted.  The golfer who stakes his flag the farthest around the course is the winner. \nHere’s an example: Let’s say your allotment is 75 strokes. You play the golf course until you hit your 75th shot\, which\, let’s say\, comes to rest on the 16th fairway. That’s where you plant your flag\, on the place your ball came to rest on your final stroke. If no other player’s flag is planted beyond yours (say\, on the 16th green or 17th tee box) you are the winner. \nDETERMINING STROKE ALLOTMENT – Full handicap (100%) will determine the stroke allotment. Using full handicaps\, a golfer playing Poland Spring\, a par-71 golf course and who has a course handicap of 14\, for example\, receives 85 strokes (71 for the course’s par rating plus 14 for the golfer’s handicap) as his tournament stroke allotment. \nUsing full handicaps often means that several golfers will reach the end of 18 holes with strokes left to use. In that event\, all players with strokes remaining  would go back to the No. 1 hole and keep playing until the stroke allotment is reached. \nELIGIBILTY – Flag Tourney is open to all Poland Spring Members with active GHIN handicap. \nPURSE – The golfer who stakes his flag the farthest around the course is the winner.  Winners will be awarded prize money\, determined by finishing position\, in the form of Pro Shop Credit.  All Pro Shop Credit must be used by October 15th.  . \nRULES OF GOLF – All play will be governed by The Rules of Golf as approved by the USGA\, except as modified by Local Rules. DESCRIPTION:Mid Summer ABCD Scramble \nSunday August 3\, 2025  \nThe Mid – Summer ABCD Scramble is open to all Poland Spring Members with active GHIN handicap. \nThe Mid – Summer ABCD will consist of an 18 hole four player scramble. \nFORMAT:  Each team member hits a tee shot on each hole. The team then collectively decides which of the four balls is in the best position to play next. After the team decides which ball is best\, mark the position with a tee\, each player retrieves their ball\, and plays a shot from the new designated position. This procedure is repeated for each shot until a ball is holed. A player’s lie may be improved by one club length (no closer to the hole) through the green with the exception of hazards. For example\, if you elect to play a ball from a sand trap\, the player whose ball you have chosen to play must play the ball as it lies and then the other team members will be allowed to place the ball (no closer to the hole). Once players have reached the green\, the ball may not be placed to improve a player’s lie (must be placed at spot where it lies).   All putts must be holed out. No gimmies.  Each member of the team must use his/her tee shot once. \nTEAMS – Teams will be determined after the close of registration on Friday August 1st.  Teams will be made by placing A’s from low to high\, B’s from high to low\, C’s from low to high and D’s from high to low. Additional prizes will be awarded for the longest drive (men and women) and closest to the pin (men and women). The event will also feature a 50/50 Raffle\, auction and door prizes\, a putting contest\, raffle prizes\, and a new car for a hole-in-one shot. \nA barbeque lunch will be served at two locations on the course from 11am-1pm\, and a full dinner will be served at the conclusion of the event along with the awarding of prizes. \n
